Brian “Hawk” Haughey Wins The $1650 High Roller Event!
Hawk Wins the High Roller wire to wire!
Brian “Hawk” Haughey beat out 104 other entries and won $52,000.
Hawk started the “official” Final Table with 2.9 million and really never looked back. There was a time when runner up Justin Carey had the chip lead but it was a brief hour or two. Then Hawk put his foot on the accelerator and never looked back.
He eliminated three people (Justin Carey -2nd, Marcus Taylor -5th, Antonio Cristallini – 6th) on this Final Table.
When Hawk got heads up with Justin, it lasted almost 90 minutes. During the 80,000/160,000/160,000 play finished when Justin went all-in with Q♣ 10♦ and Hawk called with A♣ 10♥.
The flop goes 6♣ 10♣ 4♦. Both had top pair but Hawk had the better kicker. The turn was the 6♠. Nothing changes. The river was the 3♠. Hawk had Carey covered to secure the victory.
He had his wife in the crowd all day watching and rooting him on!
This is Hawk’s biggest cash in a tournament. Before this win, was $16,000 at Foxwoods (CT) years ago.
Congrats to all of our casher’s and everyone who came out to play in this prestigious High Roller that keeps getting bigger every year!
