Anthony Taglieri Wins The December $10,000 Monthly Championship

The day started out very, very rainy and windy.

Today, at the VFW here in Walpole, Anthony Taglieri becomes the Eastern Poker Tour’s newest Monthly champ!

With 174 entries, Anthony quietly chipped up the entire way to the Final Table.

He was second in chips coming to this Final Table. When asked if he had a plan, knowing he had a ton of chips, his reply was “I just want to play cards”.

Taglieri knocked out three people on this Final Table and was very quiet in the process. His big hand of the night was when he crippled Mark Brennan when his pocket Kings bested Brennan’s pocket Queens.

After that hand, he was unstoppable.

He ended up being heads up with John Worcester.

On the final hand of the night, with the blinds at 60,000/120,000

John held 5♥ 6♥ while Anthony had J♠ 7♣. The flop went 5♦ 7♠ 7♦ to give Anthony trip sevens which sealed the “W”.

Anthony did say that this is his biggest cash ever and had his wife and 16 year old daughter Adriana rooting for him via texts. “I was suppose to pick up my daughter at 6pm, she had to take an Uber because I was doing so well”.

He was proud to say that he loves to play at the PNC in Stoughton.

Side note – Richard Rollka (6th Place) has now earned a “Double Stack” to the Season 33 Finals coming up this Spring.
