Brian Ng Wins The $1650 High Roller Event
Event #1 – $1650 High Roller
Brian Ng from Quincy, Mass. wins the $1650 High Roller event that kicked off the Eastern Poker Tour Season 32 $30K Finals Weekend.
Brian had a chip on his shoulder coming into the event because he had bubbled this same event last year. “I was determined this event since I bubbled it last year” said Ng.
When the levels were 2K/4K in yesterday’s action, Brian had busted and choose to reenter. Within a few levels he had chipped up quietly then came the hand that changed everything for him. With the blinds at 8K/16K, Brian put Norman Jacobs to the test with a Q♦ 9♦ 2♥ J♦ after the turn. Jacobs had a clock called on him which forced him to release his hand. Brian got up, slammed pocket tens and then shouted “Let’s Go Baby, it’s time”!
After that Brian was on cruise control all the way up to the Final Table.
Brian battle Jason Kuperschmid for the “W”. On the final hand, Jason held A♥ 2♦ while Brian held Q♦ Q♣.
On a flop of 9♦ 3♦ Q♠, all but sealed it up for Ng. This is biggest win since 2019.
Brian also gets a “Wild Card” seat into the Eastern Poker Tour $30K Finals Day 2 on Sunday.
