Dylan Major, A Southern Mass player, Wins The Season 34 $10,000 December Championship

Dylan Major, from the Southern Mass. region, played in his third EPT Monthly today and outlasted one hundred seventy (170) others to win the December Championship!

Today, the snow was not going to deter Dylan from making today’s event.

This 19-year old who goes to Bristol Community College for finance as his “major” won his first ever Monthly. “My goal is to make the Top 16 and this is the furthest I’ve ever gone” says Major.

Dylan was down to 7000 in chips during the 400/800 level (which is extremely early in the event). When Dylan reached the Final Table, he was 4th in chips. Jhonny Ortiz (2nd place) was the only person eliminated by Dylan.

“I called out of work today to play” chuckled Dylan.

Little did we know, Dylan comes from a long line of champions. His brother’s, Aaron and Stephen, are PBA and NEBA bowling champions.

Dylan also said that his mom and Aaron were texting him when he made the Final Table.

At the 60,000/120,000 level, Dylan got it in with Jhonny Ortiz. Jhonny had pocket Queens and Major has pocket aces! “When that last card fell, I wanted to cry,” said an emotional Dylan.

“Playing poker here is a great experience for me”, says Major.

For his efforts, Dylan takes home:

— $2500

— A seat into Day Two of the Season 34 Finals

— PLUS a trophy!

Side note – Ben Bray, who finished in 7th, earned a “Double Stack” for the Season Finals.
